Kaolin

Kaolin is a relatively pure clay, composed essentially of kaolinite.  It differs from ball clays in that it contains no organic matter and is formed in situ. Kaolin is used to modify the ball clay properties

  • In ceramics manufacturing, kaolin is used to modify the properties of a ceramic body with the ball clay (adjust the casting rate of the ceramic body, improved body whiteness
    rheological stability
  • Kaolin is used in ceramics, medicine, coated paper, as a food additive, in toothpaste, as a light diffusing material in white incandescent light bulbs, and in cosmetics
