• Sodium Lactate is the sodium salt of lactic acid, obtained by neutralisation of the acid of natural origin with a high purity sodium source. Lactate is produced naturally by living organisms as a by-product of the glycolysis and is a component of the skin’s Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF).
• It is a moisturiser with a high water holding capacity and buffering properties for beauty and personal care uses.
• It is often used as a preservative or pH buffer in foods but has moisturizing properties that make it useful in gentle cleansers and creams
